Man, it has been a minute since I’ve updated this blog! Perhaps you recall that the months of May through July are ridiculously slightly unpleasant. As a reminder, it goes something like this:
– May: D-day
– June: Eric’s b-day
– June: Father’s day
– July: Anniversary
D-day in Disney was actually a blast. It definitely kept my mind off the 1st anniversary of Eric’s passing. Although, all that ended up happening was I got really upset when I got home – apparently it’s not something that can be outrun. Noted. For Eric’s b-day I had some friends and family over for a cookout and we lit some of those paper lanterns and ended up almost setting a tree on fire. Lesson learned. Father’s day was spent at the beach avoiding social media. Hard pass. And I spent our anniversary having dinner with some girlfriends and seeing the gravestone for the first time…and they say romance is dead. HEYO! See what I did there?
So now it’s August and I don’t have to dread a month for a little while. Score!
In the midst of all those dates Arie and I also managed to take a few trips. June was a rescheduled trip with some friends that was first planned when Eric was healthy. We ended up calling it the Haunted Holiday because stuff kept happening that made us think Eric was messing with us. In July my sweet Grandma passed away so we took an unexpected trip up to Canada. 16+ hours each way in the car with a toddler. Yowza.
So, that’s basically just a longer way of saying things have been really busy lately. Please enjoy these pics from the last few months, and I promise to get back on top of posting regularly!

An example of the holiday hauntings…how is there an E in the sky?

I am so short.

Ditto!!
And ‘You are amazing’ — I hesitate to write those three words as too often they are overused for superficial things but for you they ring true from the depths of a beautiful young woman with great wisdom, love, and hope.
love to you and Arie!
